Is this the right fit?

This work is for adults ready to commit to weekly sessions and seeking lasting change, not just short-term coping strategies. Together, we'll gently explore the deeper patterns beneath your struggles, always at a pace that feels safe and supportive.

If previous therapy hasn't given you the lasting change you hoped for, it's natural to feel uncertain. Here, safety, trust, and your nervous system's pace will always come first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I book single sessions instead of the 12‑week programme?

Yes. You're welcome to book an initial session or ad hoc sessions if that's what feels right for you. That said, many clients find the consistency, continuity, and supportive structure of the 12-week programme create the sense of safety and containment needed for deeper, lasting change.

If we decide to work together beyond the programme, you can continue with individual sessions or another programme block, depending on your needs.

What if therapy hasn’t worked for me before?

It's understandable to feel hesitant if therapy hasn't felt helpful in the past. Many different approaches to therapy exist, and not every approach – or therapist – will suit every person or challenge.

Your sense of comfort, safety, and connection is central to the work we do together. That's why we begin with an initial consultation to explore what you're looking for. If you're unsure, you're welcome to book an initial session before deciding whether the 12-week programme feels right for you. Finding the right fit is an important part of the healing process.

What is the MAP Method™?

A gentle, neuroscience‑informed approach that can help the mind update unhelpful emotional patterns. It’s optional and only used when appropriate within our work together.

Do you offer in‑person sessions?

No - sessions are online only via secure video, which many clients find more accessible and consistent.

Can I use Bupa insurance?

Yes - I’m Bupa recognised. Check your eligibility with Bupa and obtain an authorisation code, then contact me. See Bupa referrals for the simple steps.

What happens in the free consultation?

A brief call to understand what you’re looking for, answer questions and check we’re a good fit. There’s no pressure to commit.

  • Clear 12‑week structure with weekly 60‑minute sessions for consistent progress.
  • Gentle between‑session practices (optional) to help changes settle in daily life.
  • Brief check‑ins for clarity or adjustments between sessions (as agreed).

Bupa referrals

I’m a Bupa‑recognised therapist offering online therapy for adults across the UK. If you have Bupa cover, you may be able to use it for sessions. Here’s how to check your eligibility and book.

How can you confirm your Bupa cover before starting?

Please contact Bupa first to check that your policy covers counselling or psychotherapy. You should also confirm how many sessions Bupa authorises and whether you need to pay any excess or co-payment.

What happens when you book a free consultation?

You can book a free consultation and include your authorisation code when you do. Karen will then confirm the next steps, availability, and any co-payment details with you.

What to have ready
  • Bupa membership number
  • Authorisation code
  • Number of sessions approved
  • Any excess amount due
What do you need from Bupa to arrange your sessions?

Please ask Bupa for an authorisation code for sessions with Karen Bland, who is a Bupa-recognised therapist. Keep your membership number handy when you contact them.

Who can use these online Bupa-covered sessions?

These sessions are for adults aged 18 and over. You meet online by secure video, and you can access support from anywhere in the UK.

What is Mind Body Mastery?

Mind Body Mastery is my way of helping you understand how thoughts, emotions, feelings in the body, and past experiences all connect. I blend counselling, psychotherapy, behavioural therapy, and creative approaches so we can work with the root of the difficulty, not just the surface symptoms.

Is online therapy confidential and secure?

Yes. Sessions take place on a secure video platform, and I keep your information confidential in line with professional and legal requirements. If you choose to work online, I will also talk you through any simple steps that help you feel settled and private before we begin.

What happens in the free consultation?

Your free consultation is a relaxed first conversation. We talk about what is bringing you here, what you would like to change, and whether my approach feels like a good fit for you. You can ask questions too. There is no pressure to commit.
