The MAP Method™

Neuroscience-Informed Therapy

What the MAP Method™ Is

The MAP Method™ is a neuroscience‑based process that helps the mind gently update old emotional patterns without needing to relive or retell difficult memories.

It works with the subconscious, supporting emotional regulation, reducing stress responses, and helping you feel calmer and more grounded.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, MAP does not require you to revisit trauma. The process is private, non‑invasive, and designed to work safely with your nervous system.

How MAP Fits Into Mind Body Mastery

Within the Mind Body Mastery approach, MAP is used to support:

  • emotional regulation
  • trauma‑related responses
  • anxiety and overwhelm
  • limiting beliefs
  • old patterns that feel hard to shift
  • younger or protective parts of you
  • stress‑based reactions

It complements therapeutic counselling and creative/symbolic work, creating a whole‑person approach to healing.

What to Expect

What a MAP Session Is Like

Before your first session, you’ll receive a short video to help your brain begin the process. During the session:

  • you bring an issue or feeling to mind
  • I guide your brain using gentle, metaphor‑based instructions
  • your subconscious processes the emotional material
  • you simply relax and notice what shifts
  • you share updates as things change

Most people describe the experience as calming, spacious, and surprisingly gentle.

Does MAP Work Online?

Online sessions allow you to settle into the work from the comfort and familiarity of your own space. Many clients tell me they value not having to drive home or return straight to the demands of daily life after a session, giving them time to reflect, rest, and gently integrate the experience.

Who MAP Supports

MAP can support people who are experiencing:

  • anxiety
  • trauma responses
  • emotional overwhelm
  • stress‑based patterns
  • low confidence or self‑worth
  • difficulty regulating emotions
  • negative beliefs and behaviours that feel hard to shift

All that’s needed is a willingness to engage and to be open to the process.

How MAP Is Different from Other Modalities

MAP is not:

  • CBT
  • talk therapy
  • hypnosis
  • NLP

It does not require you to remember, relive, or share traumatic memories;making it comfortable, gentle, private, and non‑invasive.

What Happens Next

After a MAP Session

You clients say they feel:

  • calmer
  • lighter
  • more grounded
  • emotionally clearer

The work continues gently in the hours or days that follow. It is helpful to drink water, rest, and give yourself space to integrate the work your mind has done.
